Roza Print | Design Inspiration
The Roza print collection features two of our favourite things, ric-rac and blooming florals. When we began designing for AW19 we started by looking at Eastern Europe and its traditional dress-gleefully musing at all the potential dirndls and lederhosen we were going to single handed bring back into fashion.
I set out to East London and our secret vintage cave on the hunt to find some inspiration. (Sadly our Lederhosen idea was given a bit more thought and we realised this may not be the most practical and therefore sustainable garment to produce) I found this beautiful 70's smock shirt dress with Peter Pan collar.
After some re-working and colouring we came up with our Roza print.
The Roza print was screen printed in Jaipur India. The cotton we used is GOTS certified organic cotton and printed with azo-free dyes. This print was printed during the monsoon season which caused us a few delays with production due to the amount of moisture in the air inhibiting the fabric to dry naturally.
We got there in the end but these things happen, there are obstacles that cause production to slow down which are unavoidable and no-ones fault. Fashion is not exempt from these things, no matter what it may seem like on the high street!
