Spotlight on Kate Sheridan
Kate Sheridan is an east end designer located in Lower Clapton specialising in a diverse range of unique bags and Waxed cotton batwing coats. Kate first earnt her fashion stripes after collaborating on various collections with designers such as Johnny Moke and labels such as ‘Shopgirl’. Having learnt the trade and grown in confidence Kate then went on to create her own brand in 2001 with friend Helen Minns, establishing themselves as Sheridan & Minns. The brand had nothing but positive reviews and went on to retail all over England, Europe and the Far East.
Spring/Summer 2004 saw Kate establish her own identity rebranding the company as ‘Kate Sheridan’. Since the launch of Kate Sheridan the brand has grown from strength to strength with her collections being sold in high street stores such as Topshop and Urban Outfitters and globally in boutiques such as Rosebud in Japan.
Kate Sheridan has a quintessentially English feel to all her products due to the fact they are all designed here in the UK and then produced using traditional print methods. She then goes on to proudly source quality British fabrics and Italian leather for all her collections.
Kate’s latest collection has seen a collaboration with Catherine Tough for her ‘Made in England collection’ and the use of a geometric puzzle print for a further AW15 collection. Kate produces two collections per year broken down into five different varying styles. Her Waxed cotton batwing coats offer a unique statement coloured lining, exclusive to that style. The coats are also shower resistant, perfect for chilly English winters nights. Her bags vary from quirky purses to classic rucksacks and everything in between, with them all made out of leather and crafted in the UK there’s something for everyone!
Here at Lowie we love Kate Sheridan and have been stocking a small range of her products in our shop since we first opened, 3years ago! This includes zip pouches, card holders and most recently her Waxed cotton batwing coats.
